Description

A warm and gooey Apple Pie Crisp, perfect for a comforting dessert with tender apples and a buttery oat topping. Easy to make and full of flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold, cubed unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss well and spread into the dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or your fingers until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and apples are tender.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for a crumbly topping.
  • Don’t overmix the topping.
  • Adjust apples based on preference.
  • Add nuts to the topping for extra flavor.
