Description

Ingredients

1 head (approx. 900g / 2 lbs) green cabbage, shredded
2 large (approx. 250g / 8 oz) carrots, julienned
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
1 tbsp (15ml) sesame oil
1 tsp (5g) ginger, grated
2 green onions, sliced


Instructions

Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add shredded cabbage and julienned carrots to the pan. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the cabbage is tender-crisp and vibrant in color.
Pour soy sauce over the vegetables and toss vigorously to coat everything evenly. Remove from heat immediately.
Garnish with freshly sliced green onions before serving. A sprinkle of sesame seeds can be added for extra crunch.

Notes

For a complete protein-packed meal, add diced tofu, tempeh, or cooked shredded chicken during the last few minutes of stir-frying.
Ensure your pan is hot and avoid overcrowding to achieve a tender-crisp texture, preventing soggy vegetables.
Use low-sodium soy sauce if you are mindful of sodium intake.
