- 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup (200g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (100g) rolled oats
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (100g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon (5g) ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, toss apple slices with 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, and salt. Add cold butter cubes and use fingers to rub into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Optionally serve with vanilla ice cream or custard.
