Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (270g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed pretzel pieces
  • 1/2 cup toffee bits
  • 1/2 cup festive red and green sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prep Sheets: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk Dry Ingredients: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine Wet & Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in Mix-Ins: Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, crushed pretzel pieces, toffee bits, festive sprinkles, chopped pecans (if using), and dried cranberries (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop Dough: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake Cookies: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  9. Cool Completely: Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Room Temperature: Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for optimal creaming and cookie texture.
  • Don’t Overmix: Overmixing the flour can lead to tough cookies. Mix just until combined.
  • Customization: Feel free to swap in other favorite mix-ins like peanut butter chips, chopped caramels, or different nuts.
  • Freezing Tips: Dough can be frozen for up to 3 months. Bake from frozen, adding a few minutes to the bake time.
