Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks / 226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (165g) packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (270g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed pretzel pieces
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
- 1/2 cup festive red and green sprinkles
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven & Prep Sheets: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk Dry Ingredients: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine Wet & Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in Mix-Ins: Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, crushed pretzel pieces, toffee bits, festive sprinkles, chopped pecans (if using), and dried cranberries (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop Dough: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake Cookies: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
- Cool Completely: Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Room Temperature: Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for optimal creaming and cookie texture.
- Don’t Overmix: Overmixing the flour can lead to tough cookies. Mix just until combined.
- Customization: Feel free to swap in other favorite mix-ins like peanut butter chips, chopped caramels, or different nuts.
- Freezing Tips: Dough can be frozen for up to 3 months. Bake from frozen, adding a few minutes to the bake time.
