Description

Fudgy chocolate brownies topped with candy cane kisses and crushed candy canes for a festive holiday treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 36 Candy Cane Kisses, unwrapped
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a 13×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to the bowl. Whisk until everything is evenly incorporated.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour to the bowl, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan.
  9. Using the parchment paper overhang, lift the brownies out of the pan and place them on a cutting board.
  10. Cut the brownies into 36 equal squares.
  11. Immediately press a Candy Cane Kiss into the center of each brownie square.
  12. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the tops of the brownies.
  13. Let the brownies sit for a few minutes to allow the Kisses to set.
  14. Serve and watch your guests fight over them!

Notes

  • Tip: For extra peppermint flavor, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the brownie batter.
