- ½ cup (1 stick) cold butter, cut into cubes
- ¾ cup buttermilk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked ground beef sausage, crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the buttermilk, cheddar cheese, and cooked ground beef sausage. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick circle.
- Use a biscuit cutter or knife to cut out biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
