Description

These festive no-bake Christmas Rice Crispy Treats are an absolute holiday delight, combining gooey marshmallows, crunchy rice cereal, and vibrant red and green sprinkles with crushed candy canes for a sweet, cheerful treat perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups (180g) rice cereal
  • 4 cups (600g) mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (75g) red and green sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup (75g) crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  3. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Quickly pour the marshmallow mixture over the rice cereal in a large bowl.
  6. Gently fold until the cereal is evenly coated.
  7. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan using a greased spatula.
  8. Immediately sprinkle the red and green sprinkles and crushed candy canes over the top, pressing lightly to adhere.
  9. Allow to cool completely at room temperature for about 1 hour.
  10. Cut into squares or festive shapes using cookie cutters.
  11. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
