Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  9. While the brownies are cooling, prepare the tiramisu layer. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  10. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  11. Stir in the cooled strong coffee and vanilla extract.
  12. Spread the tiramisu layer evenly over the cooled brownies.
  13. Dust the top with cocoa powder.
  14. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares and serving.
