- 4 slices challah bread
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the milk, pumpkin puree, eggs, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt.
- Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin mixture, making sure to coat both sides.
- Place the soaked bread onto the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the French toast is cooking, prepare the topping. In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans and maple syrup.
- Once the French toast is cooked, remove it from the skillet and place it on a plate.
- Sprinkle the French toast with powdered sugar and top with the pecan mixture.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
