- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups (150g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (170g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Make the Brownie Layer: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Stir in vanilla extract, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Make the Cookie Layer: In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons over the brownie batter, covering as much of the surface as possible.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with fudgy crumbs.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
