- 1 package (18.25 ounces) white cake mix
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 8 ounces (226g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- 1 (21 ounce) (595g) can strawberry pie filling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the white cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat with an electric mixer until well combined.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan.
- In a separate large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk until well combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter, spreading it somewhat evenly.
- Spoon the strawberry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, also spreading evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the cake cool completely before cutting and serving.
