Description
Enjoy guilt-free indulgence with these healthy air fryer apple fritters, ready in minutes and bursting with cinnamon-spiced apple flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and diced
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1–2 teaspoons milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine the applesauce, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the diced apple.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the apple mixture into the air fryer basket, being careful not to overcrowd. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway through.
- While the fritters are cooking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl. Add more milk, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Once the fritters are cooked, let them cool slightly before drizzling with the glaze.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Apple Variety: Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji for best results.
- Glaze Consistency: Add milk gradually to achieve your preferred glaze thickness.
