Description

Quick and easy apple fritter bites with warm cinnamon and a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert!


Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in apple mixture into the batter.
  6. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain.
  9. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze. Add more milk for desired consistency.
  10. Dip warm fritters into the glaze or drizzle over the top.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
