  • 1/2 cup (60g) cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) honey
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon (8g) sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Press tofu for 30 minutes to remove excess water, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Toss tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry tofu cubes for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and grated ginger. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Return crispy tofu to the skillet and toss gently to coat with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
