- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- Sliced green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha sauce, kimchi, fried egg (optional toppings)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
- Add the water and let the mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- While the beef is simmering, cook the rice according to package directions. If you already have cooked rice, fluff it with a fork.
- Divide the cooked rice evenly between bowls. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture.
- Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha sauce, kimchi, and a fried egg, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
