Savory Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles ready in 30 mins! Perfect for quick weeknight dinners with rich, flavorful sauce and tender noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the beef and sauce. Toss to coat the noodles evenly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Vegetable Additions: Add broccoli, carrots, or bell peppers.
- Spice Level: Adjust red pepper flakes to taste.
