Description

Tender beef slow-cooked in a sweet and savory Hawaiian BBQ sauce. Easy, flavorful, and perfect for sliders, rice bowls, or lettuce wraps!


Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg / 3.3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 240 ml / 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 240 ml / 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 60 ml / 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 60 g / 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 30 ml / 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sear beef roast on all sides (optional).
  2. Combine pineapple juice, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic, ginger, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour sauce over beef in slow cooker.
  4. Cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until tender.
  5. Shred beef, return to slow cooker, and toss with sauce.
  6. Serve on buns, over rice, or in lettuce wraps.

Notes

  • Adjust Sweetness: Reduce brown sugar if preferred.
  • Spicy Kick: Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
