Sticky Pineapple-Teriyaki Chicken Wings Recipe

Description

Juicy chicken wings coated in a homemade pineapple-teriyaki sauce, baked to crispy perfection! This recipe is inspired by Asian flavors and will become a family favorite!


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup diced pineapple
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through and the skin is crispy. Turn the wings halfway through baking for even cooking.
  4. While the wings are baking, prepare the Pineapple-Teriyaki Sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine pineapple juice, soy sauce (or tamari), brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Pour the slurry into the simmering sauce.
  6. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the diced pineapple.
  7. Once the chicken wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the Pineapple-Teriyaki Sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
