The Best No-Bake Grinch Oreo Truffles Recipe

  • Author: Mery
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 24-28 truffles 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These festive No-Bake Grinch Oreo Truffles are a delightful and easy-to-make holiday treat, perfect for capturing the spirit of the season with their vibrant green color and charming red heart sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15.3 ounce / 433g) package green creme filled sandwich cookies
  • 4 ounces (113g / 1/2 cup) cream cheese, softened
  • 16 ounces (454g / approximately 2.5 cups) white baking chocolate or candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening or coconut oil (optional)
  • Red heart sprinkles, for decoration

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the sandwich cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed into crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, place cookies in a large resealable plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the crushed cookie crumbs and softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined and a dough-like consistency is formed.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill the truffle balls for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white baking chocolate or candy melts according to package directions. If using, stir in the vegetable shortening or coconut oil for a smoother consistency. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  7. Using a fork or a dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off.
  8. Place the coated truffle back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. Immediately top with red heart sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  9. Repeat with the remaining truffles.
  10. Once all truffles are coated and decorated, refrigerate them for another 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate coating is completely set.
  11. Store the Grinch Oreo Truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Cream Cheese: Ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature for the best consistency.
  • Dipping: Work quickly when dipping and sprinkling, as the chocolate sets fast on chilled truffles.
  • Smooth Chocolate: The optional shortening or coconut oil helps create a beautifully smooth and easy-to-dip chocolate coating.
