Description

Warm, soft, and spiced apple fritters, baked to perfection and drizzled with a sweet vanilla glaze. An easy and comforting treat!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon (14g) melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and diced (about 1 cup)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the diced apple.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. While the fritters are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  9. Once the fritters are baked, let them cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters. Serve immediately and enjoy!
