Ingredients

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the diced apples.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
  9. Cool fritters slightly, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Drizzle glaze over warm fritters. Let set before serving.
