    • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup (60ml)
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15ml)
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (5g)
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (1g)
  • Topping:
    • 1 cup old-fashioned oats (90g / 3.2 oz)
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60g / 2.1 oz)
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (100g / 3.5 oz)
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)
    • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes (113g / 4 oz)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine apples, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl; toss gently. Spread in the baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle oat topping evenly over apples.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
