- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup (60ml)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15ml)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (5g)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (1g)
- Topping:
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats (90g / 3.2 oz)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60g / 2.1 oz)
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (100g / 3.5 oz)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes (113g / 4 oz)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Combine apples, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl; toss gently. Spread in the baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle oat topping evenly over apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
