  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) vegetable oil
  • 4 beef hot dogs, sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) mustard
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat milk, egg, and vegetable oil. Pour into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Spread batter evenly in the prepared baking dish. Arrange sliced beef hot dogs on top.
  5. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and vinegar. Drizzle over the hot dogs.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
