Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- Make the Brownie Layer: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
- Add the flour and red food coloring. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Make the Cheesecake Layer: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gently spread the cheesecake batter over the brownie batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
