Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Mix in the flour mixture gradually until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are set.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
