  • 1 cup sushi rice 200g
  • 1 1/4 cups water 300ml
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar 30ml
  • 1 tbsp sugar 12g
  • 1/2 tsp salt 2.5g
  • 1/2 cup imitation crab sticks shredded, 75g
  • 1 medium avocado sliced, 200g
  • 1/2 cucumber diced, 100g
  • 1/2 cup edamame shelled, 75g
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce 30ml
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil 15ml
  • 1 sheet nori cut into strips
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds toasted, 8g

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse sushi rice until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine rice and water in a pot, bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 18 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes.
  4. Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl, then fold into the cooked rice and let cool.
  5. Divide the rice among serving bowls and top with shredded imitation crab, avocado slices, cucumber, and edamame.
  6. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil, garnish with nori strips and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure the imitation crab is marked halal-certified. Serve chilled or at room temperature for the best texture.
