Steps
- Finely dice the jalapeños and set them aside.
- Form the ground beef into four loose balls.
- Heat a heavy skillet over high heat.
- Place the beef balls in the skillet and smash them flat using a heavy spatula.
- Season the patties with salt and pepper, then top with the diced jalapeños.
- Flip the patties after 3 minutes, top with slices of pepper jack cheese, and cover the pan briefly until the cheese has melted.
- Serve the patties on toasted brioche buns.
Notes
Ensure the skillet is very hot before smashing the patties to get a good crust.
