  • 1 lb ground beef 450g
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese 120g
  • 2 large jalapeño peppers 100g, finely diced
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Method
 

Steps
  1. Finely dice the jalapeños and set them aside.
  2. Form the ground beef into four loose balls.
  3. Heat a heavy skillet over high heat.
  4. Place the beef balls in the skillet and smash them flat using a heavy spatula.
  5. Season the patties with salt and pepper, then top with the diced jalapeños.
  6. Flip the patties after 3 minutes, top with slices of pepper jack cheese, and cover the pan briefly until the cheese has melted.
  7. Serve the patties on toasted brioche buns.

Notes

Ensure the skillet is very hot before smashing the patties to get a good crust.
